It is used to manage several bacterial infections like lower respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia, acute bacterial otitis media lower respiratory tract infections, pneumonia, infection in the ear, skin, urinary tract infections, gonorrhoea, pelvic inflammatory disease, bacterial septicaemia, bone and joint infections, intra-abdominal infections, including peritonitis and biliary tract infections, bacterial meningitis, surgical prophylaxis (pre-operative antibiotics, infections in neutropenic patients). Pneumonia is an infection which causes inflammation in the air sac producing cough with phlegm and shortness of breath. Urinary tract infection affects the urinary bladder later gets spreads to the kidneys. Bacteraemia is an infectious condition indicating presence of bacteria in the blood stream.
